MICROSCOPY HANDICRAFT KIT FOR CELLULAR BIOLOGY CLASSES IN HIGH SCHOOL
Keywords: Scientific literacy. Investigative teaching. Educational kit. Cytology.
The objective of this work is to carry out a teaching activity by investigation that involves the construction and use of a handcrafted microscopy kit and a manual of microscopy techniques. From the protagonism of students, it is expected to promote a more effective and streamlined teaching, which improves learning in biology in high school, in addition to generating a didactic product that can be reproduced in other educational institutions. The study will have an exploratory-qualitative character and the activities will be developed according to the investigative cycle model proposed by Pedaste et al. (2015), which will consist of 5 steps (Orientation, Contextualization, Research, Conclusion and Discussion) to be developed during biology classes at a school in the state network of Alagoas. Initially, students will answer a questionnaire on prior knowledge about cell biology and microscopy. Then, the construction and use of the microscopy kit will be carried out in an investigative cycle. Finally, a questionnaire evaluating the strategies and teaching resources used will be answered in order to verify the acceptance of students in relation to the activities developed in this work. Data will be presented descriptively through graphs and tables.
