SUMMARY:

Teaching by investigation allows students to come into contact with scientific practices that approach scientific practice. In this context, through argumentative situations, interactions between students and teachers are favored, since in the process there is the possibility of the emission of hypotheses by the students, facing a problem-situation, thus building explanations and understandings about phenomena discussed during the investigations. . The main objective of this work is to promote investigative actions in high school students from the public network, through research and cataloging of medicinal plant species used by the regional community, so that they know their use by the local community and compare it with scientific research . Among the specific objectives of the work are: to launch a problem-situation to students involving the use of medicinal plants; encourage students to research the use of medicinal plants by the regional community and compare with the results of scientific research; present students with research carried out in ethnobotany so that they can develop their research in the light of appropriate scientific methodologies; propose that students develop material to be used in a digital application that popularizes information about medicinal plants used by the regional community; stimulate protagonism, investigative work and collaboration among students. Given the above, within the research teaching strategies, a questionnaire will be applied to ascertain the perception of knowledge of the local community about medicinal plants, material will be collected and a digital application will be made, thus contributing to the deepening of the study of Botany. digital application by students from the public school system
