SUMMARY:
The teaching of Botany, especially the evolution of terrestrial plants, is often based on traditional methods that can make learning discouraging for students, as they are not very applicable. The present work will address themes about mutations, morphological characteristics of plants, adaptation, natural selection, among others, with high school students based on empirical and scientific knowledge. In this way, the objective is to develop and apply a game based on the resolution of an investigative problem, which is expected to favor student protagonism and the construction of new knowledge. An attempt was made to combine an investigative and playful teaching approach in order to enhance students' learning. The didactic game will be built by the students with the teacher's mediation, inspired by a commercial game which will tell a story about the plants existing in the caatinga biome and their adaptive mechanisms. It is expected that the proposal is effective and that students engage and develop their skills and autonomy. The final product will be a board game that can be used in schools, as well as an article to be published.
