The study of the digestive system is essential to understand the absorption process of
nutrients through food. However, the unbalanced nutritional composition, associated with
physical inactivity contributes to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
students' knowledge on the subject is often permeated by concepts
at odds with contemporary scientific literature, incomplete or even incorrect.
Thus, the use of investigative activities can help in understanding the theme and
in student learning, placing them in the role of protagonists in the process of
teaching-learning. Objective: This work aims to develop a sequence
of investigative teaching with students of the formative period III of Youth Education,
Adults and Elderly about the morphophysiology of the digestive system, with emphasis on the pancreas and
prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Material and Methods: The project will be applied in two
classes from EJAI, night shift, from Colégio Estadual José Vicente Leal, located in the
municipality of Araçás-Bahia. The proposed activities will follow the following steps: Step 1 –
Problematization; Step 2 – Research, reflection and confirmation of hypotheses; Step 3 –
Construction of graphics and informative booklet on DM 2 - dissemination of results;
Stage 4 – DM Day 2 of prevention and health promotion; Step 5 - Assessment and self-assessment.
Data collection and analysis: Data will be collected throughout the study in a diary of
field and later organized in digital spreadsheets for better visualization and analysis.
Expected results: It is expected that this study can help in teaching practices and make
the teaching of Biology more dynamic and meaningful for students of the Youth Education,
Adults and Seniors.
