SUMMARY:

Even nowadays, it is verified, through surveys or even in informal conversations, how fearful the discipline of chemistry is for a large portion of the student body. One of the innumerable reasons for this fear generated by the students also derives from the way in which chemistry is presented and taught in the classroom by a certain part of the teachers. Many students still insist solely on the traditional teaching method, also called expository or banking, thus transforming students into mere spectators instead of active participants during learning In line with what was established by the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN ) and, later, by the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), teaching in the classroom must be dynamic, interactive, extroverted, aiming to move away from traditionalism, and, thus, bring the student closer to knowledge, taking him out of the position of mere spectator and placing him in the role of protagonist during the teaching process.
