SUMMARY:

The globalized market and the speed of information worldwide, with a technological revolution and
its development, the control and management of information have become almost mandatory items for
quality management in any organization. Technology with its advances and modalities became possible due
to the constant search for the unfolding and improvement of solutions. Management tools can be presented
through software or techniques used to improve your results, processes, systems and projects. In
the management of intellectual property it would be no different, the quest to investigate, gain control over
processes or monitor the dynamics of the work becomes evident. For this, it is necessary to implement a
management system, in order to favor the achievement of objectives with more effective and efficient
actions. The present work aims to analyze the need to use a management tool at the Technological
Innovation Center (NIT) of the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), to identify possible benefits with the
application of its functionalities, and to define a tool for managing the NIT/UFAL, contributing to guarantee
the right of ownership and exclusivity to the holder of knowledge.
