SUMMARY:

The Federal Institute of Alagoas is an important knowledge production ecosystem in the state of Alagoas.
With its 16 campuses, it is responsible for producing a rich and innovative human capital and resources,
relevant to the state's innovation ecosystem. However, its Technological Innovation Nucleus (NIT) is located
in the city of Maceió, with all management activity and monitoring of the knowledge production process of
all campuses linked and centralized to this single nucleus. It should be noted that the management activity is
carried out – on a local basis, on campus outside the headquarters – by a coordination, which exercises, in
parts, the function of managing innovation, with some initiatives being exclusive to the NIT. Therefore, it was
perceived the need to investigate how the management process of the main scientific initiation programs of
the institution occurs, in campuses outside the headquarters, in order to understand which are the greatest
needs and which aspects can be improved, with the intention of encourage innovation within the scope of
these notices and programs. In this vein, a bibliographical research was carried out in books, dissertations and
scientific articles, in order to subsidize the concepts of intellectual property, innovation and the role of NITs, to build a theoretical contribution capable of supporting the intervention proposal, as well as it was an exploratory and documentary research was carried out, which consisted of the investigation and analysis of ordinances, laws, institutional regulations of the IFAL, notices of scientific and technological initiation programs and institutional websites, as well as from interviews with the research coordination, postgraduate studies and innovation at the Palmeira dos Índios campus, which was chosen as a case study. Based on the above, the objective of this work was to propose a methodology, which would improve the management of scientific and technological initiation programs at the Federal Institute of Alagoas, in order to facilitate the work of the local coordination interface and NIT, resulting in greater production of important assets to society and its evasion of the boundaries of the campus. As a result, it is expected that the proposed intervention will reorganize the flow of innovation management processes, propose greater coordination autonomy, appropriate and systematize the use of materials already produced for this purpose, such as manuals and booklets, and facilitate the transfer process. of technology. In this way, it is expected, according to the definitions of the Oslo manual (1997), the promotion of a process innovation and with that the strengthening of the culture of innovation in the scope of influence of the Federal Institute of Alagoas
