SUMMARY:

Innovation has the potential to break with current economic models that are in balance and provide new opportunities and new ways of obtaining profit. In the world we can remember the proposed model of the Triple-Helix, which demonstrates how the relationship between universities, industry and government, manages to overcome the barriers around universities, bringing them to the innovative context, so that they can proactively contribute to the development of the local economy, and receiving in exchange the practice related to the studies they develop. UFAL's classification as an ICT has been recognized since the approval of Law nº 10.973/04 (Innovation Law). Patents are extremely important in identifying parameters of a technological and market nature, being able to point out what interests the market and how innovative an ICT or a company is. In 2021, UFAL has 28 patent applications, representing a relevant percentage of the total number of applications that add up to 203, in a search on the INPI website using CNPJ 24464109000148. In order for the products obtained through academic research to be produced and/or marketed, they need to undergo procedures related to technology transfer, which were not addressed in this work. It was sought through basic procedure research, due to bibliographical and documentary research, and purpose applied to the elaboration, application and availability of the technology transfer evaluation model, which is proposed to be used prior to the technology transfer process, stage This study set out to intervene. The external and internal factors of the ICT’s needed to be considered, making it possible to identify relevant technologies in this academic, social and economic environment. The present work explored, technologically and scientifically, the technologies related to the patent requests made by UFAL in 2021, already outside the secrecy period, seeking results that could be observed in a timely manner, and observed how these results relate to the product parameters ( originated through academic research), market (production/sales, economic context) and players (labor and raw material), considering the geographic location of UFAL in Alagoas. The result after submitting the 5 technologies outside the  secrecy period to the model, was the identification of the technology with the greatest viability of technology transfer, through scoring and attribution of TRL. The latter was adopted at the highest level generally found in academic patents, in view of the advanced path taken by technologies.
