SUMMARY:

Exposure to pesticides represents an important public health problem. About 70,000 deaths and seven million cases of illness caused by exposure to these substances are recorded annually in developing countries. In view of the numerous risks caused by the use of pesticides, it is necessary to introduce new technologies, such as Mobile Health systems, which use mobile devices to practice remote health and can be used as an important tool to help reduce damage to human health caused by the excessive use of pesticides. In order to assist health professionals in their professional practice, this work aimed to develop a mobile application to assist in monitoring the health of rural workers exposed to pesticides. For the development of the mobile application, React Native, the JavaScript programming language and the code editor Visual Studio Code were used. A scientific and technological survey was also carried out using systematic methodology. The mobile application includes the functionality of a questionnaire, user login, database and information, such as the definition of pesticide poisoning, signs and symptoms, first aid, reference services, prevention and support material. In the prospection, 298 scientific articles were found, of which 12 were included in the qualitative synthesis for the composition of this study. Regarding patents, 185 records were located, of which 6 were mobile applications, however, none of these were related to the specific topic. Based on the analysis of the results, it was possible to observe that most of the productions related to the theme were scientific articles, with a lack of patent deposits. It is concluded that the results obtained through prospecting allowed observing that scientific and technological productions aimed at the use of mobile applications with a focus on the health of rural workers and the use of pesticides are still scarce, especially with regard to patents and software registrations. The mobile application developed in this work presents itself as an innovative tool to assist professionals in monitoring the health of rural workers and in the prevention of pesticide poisoning.
