SUMMARY:

The present work deals with the ascending themes of telemedicine, telehealth and explores not only its relevance and potential, but it is inserted and contextualized from the analysis of curricular data of medical courses in Brazil screened and selected according to predefined criteria , considering quality indicators measured by MEC/INEP and Times Higher Education Clinical and Health, in order to support the creational proposal of the telehealth curricular component in medical graduations in the state of Alagoas. Considering the gradual digital transformation and the effective incorporation in the medium to long term of telemedicine and related typologies of remote health care, there is a sine qua non need for cultural and local improvement, starting from the update of the basic curriculum of the medicine course at public universities, including the creation of a curricular component for the teaching of telehealth throughout graduation, the formation of a telemedicine nucleus and the creation of a University Telehealth Center. Based on multivariate research, including a detailed investigation of Brazilian medical schools that work with academic league(s), that have their own discipline in telemedicine, telehealth, medical informatics and/or health informatics, as well as have a center, laboratory or telehealth center, it supports and elucidates the constructive coherence of medical curricular improvement within the scope of graduation as a basic means for the incorporation of a University Telehealth Center in public universities in Alagoas. Consequently, the development and consolidation of a new profile of medical professionals is estimated, with avid interest, knowledge and mastery of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (TDICs) applied to the ethical, social and assistance practice of medicine, above all, with the focus on democratizing access to quality health services to meet specific demands.
