USE OF NFTs (NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS) AS A TOOL TO
ENSURE THE RIGHT TO INTELLECTUAL
PROPERTY FOR ARTISTS IN THE CREATIVE ECONOMY
ECOSYSTEM
Intellectual Property. NFT. Creative Economy
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to survive, most small
creative businesses had to reinvent themselves. During this
period there was a rapid transition from physical to digital.
These abrupt changes brought benefits such as access to
new markets, greater dissemination, and recognition for
various artists, however, also came issues such as
insecurity as protection, management, and safe marketing
of their intellectual creations in the digital environment.
Thus, the present work aimed to study the Non-fungible
Tokens (NFTs), to identify if this technological tool could be
applied in the solution of the problems experienced by the
artists of the Creative Economy Ecosystem. The study had
3 stages: applied research, ideation and construction of the
technological solution and analysis of the feasibility of use
and legal validity. After analyzing the results, it was
possible to identify the percentage of articles published by
area of interest, applicability, and publications per year,
being tokenization, commercialization, and protection the
main areas of application of NFTs. The knowledge resulted
in a practical application, available for use by the artists
themselves, aiming at the sustainability of the creative
business.
