SUMMARY:

Anatomy is the science that will study the macroscopic or microscopic constitution of human or animal organisms. Angiology studies all the vessels that make up the circulatory system and describes that the arteries have the function of carrying blood rich in oxygen and nutrients to the entire body, with the exception of the small circulation For the study of angiology, the use of anatomical techniques is essential that can perform a vascular repletion without causing a change in the shape of the vessel and that follow all its ramifications. In this sense, angiotechnics make it possible to study blood vessels, specifically through the use of various substances such as starch, wax, bovine fat and gelatin, which can improve the visualization of vessels, and facilitate future dissections of veins and arteries. The objective of this work was to describe the modified use of the Hidelgardo Rodrigues technique for vascular repletion with diluted gelatin, for the study of vascular arrangements in domestic cats. To carry out the present study, eight feline cadavers were used, donated by the Zoonosis Surveillance Unit of Maceió for anatomical studies at the Animal Anatomy Laboratory of the Federal University of Alagoas. After the fixation time, the animals were placed in the left lateral decubitus position, with dissection of the femoral triangle region in the left pelvic limb, and posterior, catheterization of the left femoral artery, with infusion of 20 mL of diluted gelatin. The gelatin used in the present study traveled the arterial system in the cranial direction, making evident the arteries entering and leaving their respective organs, making it very easy to visualize both intra-abdominal and intestinal vessels, it was possible to easily evidence the artery femoral, internal and external iliac, median sacral, caudal mesenteric, ovarian in females and testicular in males, cranial mesenteric and celiac trunk. It was possible to conclude with this study that the injection of gelatin in the femoral artery, without previous heating of the cadaver, perfectly evidenced the vascular system of the intra-abdominal arteries in the animals studied, being totally compatible with the modified angiotechnic technique.
