SUMMARY:

Chronic kidney disease in dogs is being diagnosed earlier in veterinary medicine every day, as it is a disease that is difficult to treat both because of the cost and commitment of the animal's owner, this disease usually affects elderly dogs, with infectious, parasitic diseases or patients. who are born with some change in the morphology, or absence of the organ, due to their different etiology, new alternative therapies have been emerging in order to seek help in patients who the clinical treatment is not being observed expected results, among the available alternatives, ozone therapy has been growing within of veterinary medicine with different protocols under development in the different species, developed in various pathologies being them of local or systemic origin, based on these protocols of use of ozonetherapy and for being a low cost technique, fast and safe application, the present work approaches the intrarectal ozone application technique in dogs with decompensated kidney disease, then evaluated hematological parameters, physical examinations and behavioral changes at certain times. The following therapy was instituted in addition to the support treatment, 6 ozone applications were carried out on consecutive days, and the collections were performed at 3 times, T0, T1 and T2. Improvement was observed in the reduction of white blood pressure and white blood pressure, and there was no clinical worsening, concluding that ozone therapy may have contributed to improved patient outcomes.
