SUMMARY:

Introduction: Prenatal care is a set of actions aimed at the health care of the mother-child binomial during the pregnancy process as a way of enhancing and qualifying the attention to this public in order to avoid possible complications during pregnancy. , childbirth and puerperium, in addition to the negative outcome of maternal and/or infant death. Objective: To know how pregnant women perceive the production of care during the prenatal period in a Family Health Strategy in Atalaia-AL. Method: This is a qualitative, descriptive study carried out with 09 pregnant women enrolled in the territory of a family health strategy in the rural area of the municipality of Atalaia/Alagoas, during the year 2022. Data were collected through the booklet of the pregnant women and by open interviews that were organized in electronic spreadsheets to characterize the profile of pregnant women in the unit. The interviews were conducted face-to-face, following the recommended standards for preventing the transmission of COVID-19. The script consisted of 10 open questions prepared by the researcher. These were recorded and transcribed for analysis using the Theory of Thematic Content Analysis, in four phases, as recommended by Malheiros (2011). Results: Three categories and 5 subcategories were found: a) Access to the UBS, which refers to care, treatment and appointment scheduling; b) Care received at the UBS, which concerns the information received at the clinic, satisfaction with care, importance of prenatal care and the pregnant woman's booklet; c) Childbirth, which refers to the expectation of childbirth. As a result, we can also highlight the elaboration of the educational product that consists of a birth plan to be delivered to pregnant women who undergo prenatal care at the basic health unit participating in the research. Conclusion: The present study demonstrates the importance of prenatal care and multidisciplinary care for pregnant women, as well as for their support network. Therefore, facilitating access to information about prenatal care becomes essential for a good development of the pregnancy.
