SUMMARY:

The advancement of technologies provided several changes in the routines of different segments of the health area. It is noticeable the increase in the number of Information Systems developed that are intended to assist in the management of activities, in order to increase the efficiency of its services, as well as promote speed in the search and retrieval of essential information for the decision-making process. The modernization of Health Information Systems has shown growth at all levels of health care. With regard to Federal University Hospitals, institutions relevant to the promotion of public health in the country, professionals work in an orchestrated way to maintain the continuity of care and administrative services. In this context, the Management Application for University Hospitals was institutionalized by EBSERH, which has several electronic modules that seek to facilitate the flow and organization of information. The objective of this research is to investigate with health professionals whether the implementation of this system contributes to decision-making in University Hospitals in the Northeast region. As for the methods and techniques, an exploratory and descriptive research will be carried out, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, with the application of a questionnaire, which will be sent electronically to the managers. It should be noted that the ongoing research has social relevance insofar as it seeks to understand how the hospitals in this study have used the information from this system to support their decisions. Furthermore, it also aims to contribute, as an academic study, to research in the field of Information Science that has as its object the study of informational relationships in the hospital context and health as a whole.
