SUMMARY:

Open peer review ranges from revealing the identities of the actors involved in the evaluation process of manuscripts received by scientific journals to publishing the reviewers' opinions along with the articles, or even allowing the contribution of any member of society, specialist or layperson. This model is presented as an alternative to some limitations of the traditional model based on the confidentiality of the opinion and anonymity of the reviewers. However, the opening process of the evaluation, as well as all aspects of scientific communication, is inserted in a context of conflicts and disputes between public and private interests in scientific knowledge. and, therefore, it is necessary

studies that seek to draw an overview of open peer review considering global and regional implications. Thus, this dissertation project aims to analyze the development of knowledge about open peer review in Ibero-America. Therefore, the research will be developed in the light of domain analysis developed from the bibliometric, historical and epistemological/critical dimensions of the articles published on the subject. The survey of documents initially totaled a universe of 79 articles retrieved which, after applying the exclusion criteria, total a sample of 22 documents for analysis according to the synthesis categories.
