The insertion of Clinical Library in school and university hospitals in the State of Alagoas
Clinical Librarianship. Information and Health. Teaching hospitals.
The study addresses the insertion of Clinical Librarianship in School and University Hospitals in the State of Alagoas, from the perspective of 02 public and private hospital institutions. The objective is to investigate the knowledge of professionals working in School and University Hospitals in the state of Alagoas about the possibility of inserting Clinical Librarianship, and to present the importance of the role of the clinical librarian to support the work of health teams. The research was exploratory with a qualitative approach, comprising the multidisciplinary teams in health: doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists, among others, residents, and interns of health courses, who work in the two hospitals. The application of the questionnaire followed the criteria of a simple random sample, from these groups linked in the following sectors: Internal Medicine; General ICU; Maternity/Obstetric Clinic; Pediatrics; Oncology; infectiology and elective consultations. The sample was defined with 50 employees per hospital. However, HOSPITAL 01 returned 34 responses, HOSPITAL 02 returned 45 responses. The results show that, even little known, the work of clinical librarianship is viewed favorably by research participants. However, the conditions for the implementation of clinical librarianship in the surveyed places are still far from ideal.
