Information mediation in Science, Technology & Innovation: scientific divulgation strategies in graduate programs in the state of Alagoas
Scientific divulgation. Information on CT&I. Information mediation.
In the 21st century, science reaches the peak of its influence and predominance, manifesting itself in a society articulated by two networks that present an evident relationship of interdependence, information and communication. On the other hand, even with the massive production of qualified information and technical search devices, the knowledge framework is still mostly present among peers and is not disseminated to the population. It is necessary for the population to become aware of what is being produced in scientific institutions, and, therefore, the dissemination process appears, which becomes quite relevant. In a conflicting scenario formed by scientists manufactured in social networks, mediators limited in technical basis, and a science exhausted by fighting clashes either in the laboratories or in the projection of light to society, the path that has been presented to channel energetic efforts in this challenge is that of mediation of scientific information. This research aims to analyze scientific dissemination as a process of mediation of information in ST&I, within the scope of stricto sensu graduate programs in the State of Alagoas. To this end, it aimed to identify the actors involved in this process; verify the mediation policies undertaken with the graduate programs; characterize the artifacts used in the dissemination of information; and examine the dissemination actions developed. The research universe comprised professors from postgraduate programs in the state of Alagoas and the sample was formed by coordinators and vice-coordinators of these programs. Data collection was carried out through the application of questionnaires. The data were organized using graphics, images and tables, which show the process of mediation of information in ST&I through scientific dissemination. The analysis of the results encompassed the diagnosis and configuration of this scenario based on the construction of data provided by the professors who make up the framework of the programs, which is necessary to give impetus to Brazilian science, since it is not free from attacks, as well as demand for actions to clarify society with reliable information. It is considered that there are gaps in the dissemination and inclusion of citizens in the domain of technical-scientific discourses, and there is a need to insert them in the civil context, insofar as, if previously and correctly shared, they can avoid a series of transgressions of meaning, disinformation and denialist behavior, among other anti-ST&I aspects.
