It discusses the scientific production on the topic "babassu coconut breakers". It presents the
following research problem: What is the profile of the national scientific production on the
topic "babassu coconut breakers" in the Theses and Dissertations Catalog of the Coordination
for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES)? The general objective is to
identify the profile of the scientific production on the topic "babassu coconut breakers" in
CAPES Theses and Dissertations Catalog. Shows the concepts of communication and
scientific production as a fundamental part of the process of construction and evolution of
science. It presents the babassu coconut extractivism and its relevance to the economy of
agroextractivist communities. It emphasizes the babassu coconut breakers as groups of
women with income and culture tied to the extraction of babassu coconuts. Approaches that
breakers can be the object of study of various fields of knowledge, since they evoke various
issues, such as gender, sustainability, solidarity economy and agrarian reform. This is a

descriptive study with a documental bias, quali-quantitative approach, and basic in nature. It
uses Content analysis as its method.
