SUMMARY:

Introduction: Faced with an increasingly technological scenario, where information is a necessary input, the actions of universities must be guided by the valorization of archival information that reverberates throughout the institution. The contribution of the archive needs to be seen with the importance it has for the academic community and society. By making it available in an organized, accessible and validated way to all interested parties, we will be contributing to the development of new types of knowledge and preservation of the institution's memory. Objective: To analyze the activities of the Central Archive of Ufal, in order to identify its functions, flow and information systems, as well as its role with the university. Methodology: A qualitative research will be carried out, with a descriptive and exploratory approach, using questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. Expected results: It is expected to describe the information management process of the Central Archive of Ufal; Check, from the point of view of managers and technical servants, the main problems encountered in the organization and management of information in the institution through its main file; Identify if there is any information management policy applied in the university archive. Preliminary considerations: The Central Archive is an element that reflects all the actions of the institution, it is a strategic sector that must contribute to the university and improve the performance of administrative management with transparency, productivity, speed and user service.
