SUMMARY:

The investigation is characterized by a bibliographical study that aims to reflect on public information policies for the “elderly person” in Brazil through theoretical and explanatory analyzes based on Simone de Beauvoir and Helson Flávio da Silva Sobrinho. Therefore, the investigation will be based on the quadripolar method proposed by Bruyne, Herman and Schotheete in 1974, through the construction of four fundamental poles for a theoretical study focused on the thoughts of Beauvoir and Silva Sobrinho: the epistemological, the theoretical, the technical and the morphological. The epistemological pole will be guided by the construction of the scientific object, definition of the research problem, enabling the discursive parameters and the identification of paradigms and criteria of scientificity that will guide the research. The theoretical pole will be based on the postulation of laws and regulations, formulation of hypotheses, articulation of frames of reference between Beauvoir and Silva Sobrinho to explain the elderly and the need for public policies aimed at them, as well as building a theoretical-conceptual framework on information policies for the elderly, in the scope of Information Science, also focused on the thoughts of Silva Sobrinho and Beauvoir. The technical pole will describe the process of collecting, organizing and processing research data, measuring the reflections of the base authors chosen for this research. In the morphological pole, the results of the investigation will be formalized and essential elements for the construction of public information policies for the elderly will be presented, under the cogitation elements brought by Beauvoir and Silva Sobrinho and which may be reflected both by Information Science and by society in general, so that the fight for them is ignited so that they can enter the governmental agendas. In turn, the research will also be constituted by the bibliographic and documentary study carried out in the Information Science databases, where scientific articles aimed at the elderly in Brazil will be mined and such policies will be analyzed in the documents, available on the web pages of the Brazilian government, aimed at the elderly, and a descriptive study to identify the conceptual elements of public information policies for the elderly in Brazil. The results identified that in Brazil there are six public documents aimed at the elderly. They embroider their rights, access to care and comprehensive health and their humanization principles. It is in these documents that the possible information policies for the elderly will be analyzed and the elements considered by Beauvoir and Silva Sobrinho will be related. The results will be centered on the informational factors found in the public policies of documents aimed at the right of the elderly in Brazil and on the contribution of research to Information Science and society.
