BLACK VOICES IN THE ACADEMY: an overview of Brazilian graduate research related to ethnic-racial issues

The present study refers to ongoing research that aims to analyze the research of Brazilian graduate studies with the ethnic-racial theme deposited in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations between 2002 and 2020. Bibliometric techniques were used to measure, map, and generate different indicators of the production of scientific knowledge. it is characterized as an exploratory investigation with characteristics of descriptive research, with the analysis of information retrieval in its data referring to the ethnic-racial theme. The search resulted in 240 papers, 168 dissertations and 75 theses. Twenty-three higher education institutions were analyzed, where most of the studies found after the survey were analyzed, a total of 52 titles, 30 dissertations and 22 theses, followed by the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, with a total of 40, 28 dissertations and 12 theses were analyzed. The production is uninterrupted, even if it suffers oscillations, there is an interest on the part of researchers in the development of the theme in several areas of knowledge, dealing with different approaches.
