ELECTRONIC PUBLICATIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF BRAZILIAN UNIVERSITY PUBLISHERS:
A STUDY ON THE E-BOOK PUBLISHING PROCESS

Numerous changes have occurred in the publishing process in the Brazilian publishing market. The challenges have grown rapidly with the advent and development of new technologies permeating the guidelines of publishers of all kinds. This work presents the problem of identification of the technological processes used by the Brazilian university publishing houses in the publishing of e-books and for this it sought to study these processes, identifying and characterizing the editorial policies adopted by the Brazilian university publishing houses, as well as analyzing the e-bookpublishing supports and the methodologies used for editorial production of e-books by the researched publishing houses, to trace the panorama of e-book publishing in the context of the Brazilian university publishing houses. The research is of an observational nature, making use of bibliographic and documental research, using the research universe of 69 university publishing houses in Brazil. The expected result is that this work presents an evaluative panorama of identification of the technological processes used by the Brazilian university publishing houses, the way in which they develop, so that a model of editorial policy of e-books can be outlined to dynamize and facilitate the production of digital publications in the academic environment.
