information and communication technologies; electronic patient records; information management.
In today's society, there is a growing need to record and manage information produced from established social relationships. In the scenario of hospital services, significant advances have impacted activities through the use of Information and Communication Technologies. The general objective is to evaluate possible impacts related to the implementation of Information and Communication Technologies, in particular the Electronic Patient Records system, at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Maceió (2009 - 2023). Methodologically, this study is characterized as exploratory in nature with a qualitative approach. It uses bibliographic and documentary research and respective content analysis procedures. It is intended to employ the technique of applying structured interviews through scheduled visits. Partially, it presents as results and discussions, the identification of the main Information and Communication Technologies through a detailed investigation from the institution's website. Primarily, 13 (thirteen) Information and Communication Technologies were cataloged through a survey on the hospital's institutional website. It was observed that Santa Casa managers have been investing in the implementation of various Information and Communication Technologies. Despite the hospital's philanthropic profile, part of the resources has been converted into Information and Communication Technologies infrastructure. This fact is indicative for Information Management to be carried out according to technological advances and users' needs.
