SUMMARY:

Discussions on ethnic-racial issues have been the subject of studies in scientific productions in different areas
of knowledge, providing greater visibility and opening up debates and dialogues on the subject. In this sense,
the present study aims to analyze the Brazilian postgraduate research with the ethnic-racial theme deposited
in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), between 2012 and 2022. Bibliometric
techniques were used that allow measuring, mapping and generating different indicators of the production of
scientific knowledge. It is an exploratory investigation with characteristics of a descriptive research, with the
analysis of the recovery of information in its data referring to the ethnic-racial theme. The search resulted in
3,262 papers, 2,309 of which were dissertations and 953 theses. 27 institutions of higher education where the
defenses took place were analyzed. Most of the works found after the survey were produced by the University of São Paulo, a total of 321 titles, with 180 dissertations and 141 theses, in the Northeast the Federal University of Bahia leads with a total of 252 titles, with 179 dissertations and 73 theses. The production is uninterrupted, even suffering oscillations, there is an interest on the part of researchers in the development of the theme in different areas of knowledge, dealing with different approaches. It is considered that the research provided knowledge of the panorama of production on the ethnic-racial theme and could contribute to the visibility of the theme in the academic environment and encourage new studies.
