SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION ON THE TWITTER SOCIAL NETWORK: THE VISIBILITY OF RESEARCH ON “CORONAVIRUS” PROMOTED BY USERS IN BRAZIL

Currently, new configurations are present in scientific communication. Not discarding the historical context and development of this social action, technological elements and pressure from society increasingly place these operations, previously restricted to specific audiences, within reach and discussion of audiences with multiple interests. The study aims to characterize the presence of scientific research on the coronavirus on the social network "Twitter" that received online attention by Brazilian users. Methodologically, it is a descriptive study, presenting quantitative and qualitative analyses. For the presentation of partial analyzes and syntheses, it presents bibliometric and altimetric surveys, worked on the Dimensions and Altimetrics platforms and in electronic spreadsheets (Google Sheets). As partial results, there is the presence of scientific research on the coronavirus on the social network Twitter since 2005, with a greater 'online attention' effect of this presence in the years 2019-2020, a period that coincides with the emergence of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome in the country.
