SUMMARY:

The objective of this work is to analyze the training narratives of Youth, Adult and Elderly Education teachers from two schools in the Alagoan municipality of Teotônio Vilela and their impact on teaching practice. In this analysis, we sought to identify in the narratives of life and training for teaching at EJAI the meanings they attribute to their initial and continuing training; verify the relationship between practice in the classroom and training; and get to know constitutions of personal images about what it is to be a teacher at EJAI. To this end, qualitative research will be used, using the focus group as a data construction instrument, as well as the written productions of the research participants. The theoretical framework used, based on authors such as Arroyo (2000, 2006), Camargo (2017), Di Pierro (2006), Fernandes (2016), Nóvoa (1992), Saviani (2005), Ventura (2020), among others, who understand that the narrative can be a formative opportunity, helping in the process of construction of the teaching identity, notably in the context of Youth, Adult and Elderly Education (EJAI). Therefore, the initial and continuing training of teachers can be one of the determinants for the demands of EJAI students to be met. It is hoped that this research, with the identification of the meanings that teachers attribute to their initial and continuing training, will collaborate in their training and, consequently, bring to light some of the teaching identities of EJAI teachers.
