SUMMARY:

This work addresses concerns about the inclusion of deaf people in higher education and has as a general objective: Understanding the learning and obstacles in the educational trajectory of a deaf person in graduate studies of a federal university. The academic training covers knowledge of various fields. In this sense, when thinking about the inclusion of deaf people, it is understood that it uses a language and culture different from other people, which requires other teaching practices, especially in graduate school. In the meantime, the research is developed through a qualitative approach, of the autobiographical type, which aims to narrate the experiences and experiences of the researcher in the face of challenges, difficulties and learning from the first years of schooling until the Master's degree. The results indicate that this process, in certain times, proved to be challenging, because difficulties were perceived and witnessed. . Among them, the use of the Portuguese language, the incongruities of remote teaching, the practices not appropriate to the singularity of the deaf subject. On the other hand, it was also perceived the concern of teachers to provide, in the best way, an inclusive environment.
