SUMMARY:

The present research arises from the need to understand the impacts of the training provided by the Graduate Program in Science and Mathematics Education (PPGECIM) at the Federal University of Alagoas (Ufal) on the professional and personal lives of its graduates, given the lack of specific studies on this subject. The identified problem lies in the gap in investigations addressing the contributions of the knowledge acquired in PPGECIM to the identity formation and pedagogical practice of graduates after completing the course. In this context, the research objectives are to elucidate the contributions and changes generated in PPGECIM graduates in their identity formation and teaching knowledge, both professionally and personally. To achieve these objectives, a qualitative methodology is adopted, using narratives from graduates through interviews and online questionnaires. The collected data will be analyzed following stages of compilation, description, recommendation, interpretation, and conclusion, using Thematic Analysis to identify patterns in participants' discourses. The expected results will address the knowledge acquired in PPGECIM, the impacts of this knowledge on graduates' professional practice, and the program's contributions to professional identity formation. These results will be triangulated with theories and perspectives of the graduates themselves, providing an in-depth understanding of the formation and learning processes provided by the program. The final considerations will synthesize the main findings and point out perspectives for future studies, aiming to contribute to the valorization and strengthening of PPGECIM in promoting quality education and understanding phenomena related to professional identity formation and teaching knowledge of education professionals.
