CONSTRUCTION OF DIGITAL TWINS IN A WEB-BASED VIRTUAL REALITY ENVIRONMENT
Automated Guided Vehicles, Digital Twin, Virtual Reality
This work presents a proof-of-concept implementation of a Digital Twin for a fleet management system for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and explores potential enhancements for it. The Digital Twin monitors multiple AGVs as they perform their tasks within a specific scenario. It integrates Virtual Reality (VR) and Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) to facilitate the testing of hypothetical scenarios within the digital twin. This, in turn, streamlines the automation of testing processes and the generation of predictions and insights. The objective of this implementation is to establish a scalable and flexible architecture that enables real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization of the system. This architecture not only addresses current industrial challenges, but also lays the groundwork for future advancements, contributing significantly to the ongoing digital transformation of the manufacturing and production sectors.
