SUMMARY:

This dissertation focuses on the conceptual evolution in information mediation, analyzing a decade of theoretical sharing within the scope of the National Meeting of Research in Information Science (ENANCIB), between the years 2013 and 2023. The central objective of this study is to analyze the trajectory and transformations
of fundamental concepts in information mediation over a decade, based on the theoretical sharing presented, and as specific objectives: to map the main themes and concepts covered in publications over the period of a decade, identifying trends and changes in the focus of research on information mediation; evaluate the impact of technological innovations on the conceptualization of information mediation, considering the context of digital advances and the information society; investigate the research methodologies adopted in information mediation studies, verifying the evolution of theoretical-methodological approaches; examine the influence of the main
theoretical currents on the evolution of information mediation concepts during the decade in question. Conducts an investigation of an exploratory nature, of a basic nature, and uses bibliographic research methods. To this end, a quantitative methodology was adopted, with analysis of data and content of publications and works
presented at ENANCIBs annual meetings, allowing a comprehensive view of discussions and scientific contributions in the area. The results point to an increasing complexity in understanding information mediation, reflecting the challenges imposed by digitalization and the need to adapt to new social and technological demands. It is concluded that information mediation, over the last decade, has undergone a significant conceptual evolution, expanding its borders and redefining its role in the context of Information Science, which suggests new paths and possibilities for research and professional practice in the future.
