SUMMARY:

This thesis starts from the theoretical-analytical assumption that the Brazilian State acts directly to favor the accumulation of capital (national and international), reinforcing the main characteristic of the Brazilian economy, essentially, agrarian-mineral-exporting. Capital continues to loot and destroy nature in Brazil, largely under the support of the state apparatus, in order to maintain the pace of accumulation. The research object of the thesis is the expressions of the “environmental issue” carried out by the Brazilian State with a focus on the destruction of nature and the class struggle for the use and appropriation of nature. We capture the particularities of the Brazilian State, comprising the reciprocal articulation of coexistence between the material base (capital) and the political-legal-legal sphere (State) in the Brazilian economic formation and the demands of international capital from the perspective of the global totality, in addition to the fundamentals of ecology and the "environmental issue" through Marxian thought and the Marxist tradition, to analyze the destructive character of the Brazilian State on nature and with society to meet the determinants of capital. The method of analysis was based on Marx's social theory, and the types of research used were: bibliographic and documentary. The aim of the thesis is to demystify the analyzes of those who harbor illusions about the Brazilian State as a protector and conservator of nature and of traditional peoples and communities.
