SUMMARY:

HIV in Brazil has historically recorded 40 years of coexistence, studies and challenges. The epidemiological profile has evolved, starting to affect not only the biological aspect, but also affecting vulnerable individuals in social, economic and social terms. This study, whose title is Epidemiological profile and feminization of the HIV epidemic in Brazil, aimed to discuss and historically rescue the feminization of HIV in Brazil. To this end, the questions of how the intersection between health, race, gender and public policies occurred in the history of HIV/AIDS in the last four decades were used as guiding strategies and versalized in the gender perspective, in the context of the discussion of public policy in the face of changes in the epidemiological profile of HIV infection. In the methodological path, we notably used bibliographical and documentary research of an exploratory nature, which brought to the core questions raised by epidemiological bulletins in a period between the years 2007 and 2021, interconnecting legal facts from Brazilian and international legislation, as well as, supported by authors /as we perceive the process of change in the epidemiological profile in which it refers to some determinants that progressively contribute to the vulnerability of women, where they can be called social, cultural and historical determinants that affect the health/disease process, such statements are represented Saffioti (2004), Kergoat (2009), Federici (2004), Ávila (2002; 2011), Scott (1990), which deal with and discuss the oppression of women in society, contributing to the discussion of the challenges faced and prejudices rooted in patriarchal structures and gender stereotypes.
