THE PRODUCTION OF MEANINGS IN PSYCHOLOGICAL PRENATAL FOLLOW-UP IN TRANS PREGNANCY: THE PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN QUESTION
Psychological prenatal care; Trans pregnancy; Production of meanings.
This project was born from some concerns that arose in my work in perinatal psychology with psychological prenatal care, more specifically, with pregnant trans men. Psychological Prenatal Care is a place of welcome, in which pregnant people, their partners, as well as someone who acts as a support network, can clarify doubts and exchange experiences, feel comfortable sharing their fears and insecurities raised by this unique period of life. Therefore, we aim to investigate the production of meanings in the professional practice of psychological prenatal care with pregnant trans men. This is qualitative research, whose theoretical methodological framework is aligned with Social Constructionism and Discursive Practices and Production of Meaning. To this end, this research will be developed through virtual conversation circles with psychology professionals who support trans men in the pregnancy-puerperal cycle. The discussion of the data collected will take place through sequential transcription techniques to transcribe the reports from the sharing circles and to analyze the content, maps of association of ideas will be used, which will allow the identification of linguistic repertoires, which in turn will make it possible to reflect on the production of meanings in the practice of psychology professionals who provide psychological prenatal care with pregnant trans men. The study is expected to contribute to expanding spaces for dialogue and enhancing reflections on monitoring practices during psychological prenatal care.
