The present work consists of a qualitative research, supported by the participatory research method, with the theme: “The expressions of nature in health care practices produced in the terreiro of a quilombo in the agreste region of Alagoas.” Therefore, the overall objective of the research is to understand the expression of nature in health care practices produced in the daily lives of the participants of the terreiro within the territory of a quilombola community in the agreste region of Alagoas. The methodological procedures used throughout the work will include: literature review on topics related to health and traditional quilombola care practices, conducting semi-structured interviews, recording and transcribing them. The methodological tools will include: participant observation, construction of field diaries, everyday conversations, and individual interviews. The study participants will be members of the Palácio de Ogum terreiro, adults of any gender. For data analysis, the thematic analysis technique will be used. Based on the studies conducted, it is possible to observe that the relationships with nature play a fundamental role in the processes of health production and care performed by the quilombola community. Therefore, in this territory, nature is not understood as a natural resource to be exploited, but rather respected as an entity that ensures the existence of ancestral processes for maintaining physical, mental, and spiritual health. This work aims to elucidate the different ways of relating to the territory found among the children of the terreiro and to identify how nature expresses itself as a health care device in the daily lives of the quilombolas who frequent the traditional community terreiro.
