SUMMARY:

This is qualitative research focusing on the health team involved in care practices for people with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis treatment. Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) has as its peculiarity the progressive and irreversible reduction in kidney function, with hemodialysis as one of the treatment modalities. People undergoing hemodialysis treatment become immersed in the treatment environment regularly, as therapy takes place three times a week, lasting approximately four hours each session. As a result, the healthcare team is called upon to offer continuous and permanent care throughout the entire course of treatment. The study aimed to understand the production of meanings based on care practices in the healthcare team during hemodialysis treatment at the Urinary System Unit of the Hospital Universitário Professor Alberto Antunes (HUPAA), located in Maceió, Alagoas. I dialogued with the social constructionism movement as a theoretical-methodological reference, based on Discursive Practices and Production of Meaning. To this end, a workshop was held with the HUPAA health team involved in care practices for people with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis treatment: doctor, nurse, nursing technicians, nutritionist, social worker, and psychologist. The records were written, the conversations recorded with consent for later full transcription of the dialogues produced. To analyze information, in addition to productions related to the workshop, the field diary produced throughout the research process was used. Diary and workshop presented the dialogues so that dialogical maps could be constructed, which allowed the identification of linguistic repertoires. The analysis of linguistic repertoires made it possible to reflect on the production of meanings among the health team in relation to care practices aimed at people undergoing hemodialysis treatment. The workshop gave rise to four sets of meanings: care practices, bonds, affectations/emotions and affections and production of meanings with people undergoing treatment. From this research, it is expected to contribute to expanding spaces for dialogue, enhancing reflections on health care practices in the context of hemodialysis treatment, and thus, producing new meanings in doing.
