SUMMARY:

The Solidarity Economy is an economy model that has its base established in social interactions, aimed at all who wish to generate income in a cooperative and sustainable way. Its arrival in Brazil took place in the mid-1980s, and expanded into different economic segments, rural and/or urban. Some of its principles are: self-management, solidarity and sustainability. In Brazil, this way of undertaking quickly spread among the most vulnerable layers of society. As a result of high unemployment rates, thousands of people remain outside the formal labor market, and thus, work in the solidarity model tries to meet the need for income generation while also qualifying. In this research we will dialogue with women from the interior of Alagoas, who work in the Solidarity Economy model in a sewing group. We intend to jointly understand how the project works, its life trajectories, the challenges of collective management and how the project interacts with the community. Our objective is to analyze the impact of cooperative work on the production of autonomy for women in the Mulheres da Costura Group, in the municipality of Flexeiras (AL). We will try to think about these experiences through collaborative dialogues, as suggested by Bell Hooks. These dialogues are also important for our purpose of collective knowledge building. We will carry out an intersectional analysis of the information shared, with the aim of extending our perspective to the different forms of oppression and/or discrimination that permeate these women's lives.
