Once Upon a Time .... Stories told from the use of communication technologies and directions produced in a covid-19 unit
Health communication; Humanization of Assistance; Coronavirus; Social Constructionism.
The study in question addresses articulations between humanization and health communication technologies in the relationships existing between users / staff / family members at the Covid-19 Unit of a public teaching and research hospital. The objective is to understand the meanings produced by professionals / residents who use communication technologies in a Covid-19 Unit. The guiding questions of the research are: what are the meanings produced by the use of communication technologies in humanization actions carried out with internal users at the Covid-19 Unit and its support network? What are the potentials and challenges in the use of these technologies in the hospital environment? The research is based on Social Constructionism, based on the support of the analysis of discursive practices and the production of meanings. As a strategy for the production of information, we propose the holding of conversations guided by the experiences and stories of the use of new communication technologies in the Covid-19 Unit environment. The dialogues and stories of the conversation circles will be recorded in audio and transcribed in full. Dialogic maps will be built from the transcripts in order to identify the linguistic repertoires used in the conversations. The analysis of discursive practices will help to reflect on the meanings produced. The conversation circles will be held in a space that allows for adequate social distance, according to the pandemic prevention measures, with the suggestion of a mini auditorium or one of the larger rooms of the Study Center of this hospital.
