SUMMARY:

Stress can be considered a psychological phenomenon based on the interaction between the subject and the environment that normally generates the subject's adaptation to new experiences. However, this phenomenon, when in excess, can cause psychological and physical discomfort and mental and biological pathologies emerge. The study adapts to the Protocol for Assessing Minority Stress in Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals in brazilian context (PEM-LGB-BR) for the population of Transvestites and Transsexuals (T population). This investigation is important because of the research gap with the target population, both in terms of psychological instruments to measure the specific context of this audience, as well as their experiences in general. To this end, theoretical and statistical analyzes will be carried out, namely: Semantic Analysis (with experts in the area and people from the target population), Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), investigation of the individual parameters of the items according to the Item Response Theory (IRT), using the parameters of difficulty and discrimination, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and, finally, the investigation of the Differential Item Function (DIF). At the end of the schedule, an instrument as good as the original (PEM-LGB-BR) is expected to promote research and collaborate with the investigation of the reality of the T population in Brazil.
