MATERNING YOURSELF: A READING GROUP EXPERIENCE WITH WOMEN MOTHERS ABOUT MATERNITIES
Reading Group. Maternity. Narratives. Experiences.
This is a relational research, entered in the field feminist epistemology, which proposes to analyze the experience of a reading group on maternity hospitals, with women mothers, in a virtual and online format, started in May of 2020. Dialogued from a social constructionist stance, we are interested in recognize and make known this experience, elaborate some theoretical descriptions and reading group practices as a group practice and reacting to the interpellations of the meetings relational in doing. We intend to achieve this objective by adopting the method of autoethnography, with conversations inspired by bell hooks (2017; 2020). To product with the surprises and specificities of these meetings, we will seek support in the concept of intersectionality. We will bet on production with narratives, based on choices and connections with my body, with my personal and professional experiences, with readings and theoretical/bibliographic/literary references, with women mothers of the reading group “Maternando-se”, and with the people I met and related to this process. Our idea is to initiate understandings, dialogues and knowledge that can contribute to the generation and development of practices groups, but also for processes of questioning and coping with hegemonic narratives that cross the experiences of mothers and maternity hospitals.
