(Inter)sex elections: new forms of Civilization and its discontents

The spark that motivated this research arises from the participation in the multiprofessional team of the Outpatient Clinic for Differences in Sexual Development (DDS) of HUPAA/UFAL and from the interest in Freudian thinking in The malaise in culture regarding human suffering and its updating. DSD are congenital conditions in which anatomical, gonadal or chromosomal development makes it difficult to assign male/female sex and questions established scientific knowledge regarding biological sex. From this clinic, multiple issues related to the definition of sex and sexuality in the culture stand out. In order to delimit such a complex theme, this work seeks to investigate the malaise in intersexuality from impasses located in the documentary Ni d¶ÊYe ni d¶Adam, Xne hiVWoiUe inWeUVe[e. FoU WhiV, Ze Zill highlighW fUom Whe film hoZ inWeUVe[ iV inscribed in culture today, the clinic of intersexuality, with an emphasis on the 21st century, to, finally, analyze the relationship between the new forms of malaise and the enigma of sexuality. This is a theoretical research in psychoanalysis, supported by Freud and Lacan, which uses the documentary as a methodological operator, updating the discussions presented.
