SUMMARY:

The advent of the World Wide Web, created in 1991, brought with it a modern wave of proliferation of Online Social Networks - OSR. The amount of material stored and the dissemination potential of the networks exceeded the capacity of televised content for decades. In this way, the OSR produce a new form of relationship between individuals and the psychologist is also inserted in this field. Whether as an RSO user, as a content producer or having other forms of relationship with this space. Given the above, study 1 (chapter 1) aimed to understand how the OSR is used by the Psi field, understanding the Psi field as professionals and  students in the area of psychology. Therefore, a search was carried out in the Scielo, IndexPsi, Lilacs, PepSic and PsycInfo databases using descriptors organized as follows ("Online Social Media OR Social Media AND Psychology OR psychologist") and ("Online Social Networks OR Social Networks AND Psicologia OR Psychologist"). A total of 3,918 studies were found, which after being analyzed, 71 studies were selected that met the research inclusion criteria. from the production of studies in RSO Orkut, later the studies are carried out with the help of Facebook, Instagram and Twiter. The studies found have a qualitative and quantitative approach, with a predominance of qualitative methodologies. In addition, the RSO are part of the life of the subjects of the psi field, modifying the ways of social life and consequently reaching its subjectivity and the time. relation to the positioning of the field, when in relation to discussions about technologies and OSR in the academic field. Therefore, study 2 (Chapter 2) of this dissertation seeks to understand which behavioral, normative and control beliefs of the use of OSR by the Psi field. Based on interviews with individuals in the psi field and subsequent content analysis with the help of the Iramuteq software.
