Argumentation, Science and Democracy: weaving theoretical overlaps

This research has the function to discuss possible effects of argumentation as a tool in the production process of scientific knowledge in higher education. For this purpose, it will rely on a literature review and documental analysis of articles, masters dissertation and other important textual productions about argumentation, higher education's social and academic place and democracy as a part of educational formative process. The research shows to be relevant because it aims to provide a contribution to investigative methods that encourage critical and reflective thinking, conducting argumentations, recognition of language oppositions to others on daily dialectic, learning of curriculum knowledge, besides to expand political discussions concerning to the social place that Argumentation as a conceptual key can occupy nowadays.
