SUMMARY:

This ethnographic research seeks to discuss the notions of family, militancy and memory, with the aim of understanding how they relate, based on public and domestic/private narratives, to the political disappearance of Alagoas communist Jayme Miranda. To do this, we will use interviews with family members and activists of the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB), documents such as the final report of the National Truth Commission, the reports (partial and final) of the State Truth Commission, legislation, books written by family members, letters, printed and online newspapers, personal documents; and finally, visual ethnography (photographs) and audiovisual (documentaries).
