SUMMARY:

This study aims to analyze the production of handicrafts in the city of Santana do São
Francisco, located in the State of Sergipe, Brazil. It involved the reflection on themes
such as social memory, cultural references and the circulation of objects. In order to
reach the proposed goal, we used a qualitative methodology, of an ethnographic
character, based on primary and secondary data. We hope this study can contribute to
discussions in the field of Cultural Heritage, at the same time that we seek to offer
material that will help artisans in recognizing this know-how as a future cultural
heritage in the city of Santana do São Francisco.
