SUMMARY:

In this work, I analyze the Guarani ethnic claim in the province of Corrientes during the "esterización process" from the 1990s onwards. I understand this process as a practice of producing borders with the creation of the region (Bourdieu, 1989) called “Esteros del Iberá”. I will describe the processes, experiences and research works from a reflexive approach (Guber, 2001) that allowed the construction of the problem, together with other theoretical approaches that supported the analysis of the processes in focus. In the first chapter, I present the trajectories of the Guaraní interlocutors who are part of the organization process, pointing out the heterogeneity of experiences that make up the ethnic claim process, resuming the discussions, conflicts, educational and training processes that constitute it. In the second chapter, I will contextualize and describe the memory regimes (Fabian, 2001) that come into tension from the processes of ethnic claim, analyzing the narratives, symbols, characters and imagery that are brought into play in each one of them. In the third chapter, by virtue of having a more comprehensive view of the problem, I will characterize the “esterización process”, describing the agencies, discourses and interests that constitute it and the production practices of Space, Time and Others to perpetuate and nurture a project of modernity. In relation to this and the last agency to be described, I will address the experiences and practices of resistance developed by Fe.Ca.Gua understood as a political community (Weber, 1944) that currently has about 1500 families, who face abusive practices on a daily basis. who seek to compulsorily displace them.
