SUMMARY:

This work aims to study the different uses of the Alagoas Adoption Support Group (Gaaal) in groups on the social network Whatsapp during the period of social withdrawal due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic (causing agent of Covid-19) between the years 2020 and 2021. The purpose of this contribution is to understand how the situations experienced in these virtual spaces produce feelings in relation to the adoption process in the participants and to show how the use of communication mediated by technology during the pandemic period worked as a legal technology of the Alagoas Judiciary to guarantee the continuity of the adoption processes in the state, as well as construted to strengthening the idea of an articulated movement od Adoption Support Groups in Brazil, not only as a solidarity network between adoptive parents and interested parties in adopting, but also as a producer and/or influencer of national regulation on adoption in Brazil. The research was formulated using the method of online ethnography, being Messages were observed over 1 year in four virtual groups of Gaaal tha have adoptive parents, interested in adopting and technicians from the Judiciary of Alagoas as participants. As methodological strategies, a questionnaire via Google Forms and semi-structered interviews, via digital platform, with participants who were available were also used. Finally, I make a connection between the dialogues observed in the Whatsapp groups and the anthropological studies on Family, Kinship and Desire to have children, and I use the Anthropology of Law to show how changes in legislation on adoption in Brazil, demarcated mainly by the changes pointed out in the Brazilian Federal Constitution, in 1988, and the advent of the Child and Adolescent Statute (Eca), in 1990, which began to adopt the idea of “best interests of the child” as premise for a restructuring of the adoption in Brazil and the emergence of a “new culture of adoption”, changed the dynamics of the Support Grups in Brazil and directly impact the Alagoas Adoption Support Group.
