The word and the body: tradition of knowledge, ritual, and politics among the Sikuani (Colombia)

This work aims to show an investigation on the knowledge tradition of the Sikuani people of the Wacoyo reservation, based on their local practices and how it is influenced by their living and constantly changing cosmology, as well as by historical, social, and political processes. The research seeks to understand how the social actors of the reservation cultivate and manage the knowledge that is acquired through bodily practices, nature, and the territory in different daily spaces. The general objective of this research is to understand the knowledge tradition of the Sikuani people of the Wacoyo reservation and how it is transmitted through bodily expressions and teaching and learning practices. To achieve this, a horizontal and transdisciplinary methodological approach will be used to analyze the different forms of knowledge and transmission that are generated in the reservation. It will also seek to identify the organizational principles that guide the Sikuani people and how knowledge is fostered in the different formal and informal spaces in a comprehensive and careful manner.
