Brazil; Coronavirus pandemic, Brazilian LGBTQIA+ population; social vulnerability
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the lives of the world's population have been directly impacted by a virus that does not discriminate, as the virus made no distinction between gender, skin color, social status, religion, sexual orientation. , between others. In this way, the present work aims to analyze whether the COVID-19 pandemic has strengthened the worsening of social vulnerabilities among the Brazilian LGBTQIA+ community, and to some extent in Alagoas, given the context in which social isolation measures were adopted to contain the advance of the disease. In order to reach the proposed objective, a bibliographical and documentary research was carried out, based on a narrative literature review based on articles, reports, dossiers, in addition to statistical data. The descriptors relating the themes “Population “LGBTQIA+” and “Pandemic” were used in the scientific databases Scielo, Science Directt, Google Scholar (Scholar Google) and CAPES journals. The research results pointed to conceptual definitions of gender (and the terms gay, lesbian, trans, transsexual, transvestite and transgender); discussions about the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequences of the pandemic for the Brazilian LGBTQIA+ population. Thus, we conclude that the pandemic process accentuated the vulnerability of this population group.
