TERRITORIALIZATION OF PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF DELMIRO GOUVEIA – ALAGOAS

This research conducts a study on the territorialization of public health in Delmiro Gouveia - Alagoas, performing a diagnostic analysis on the characterization of the services provided, addressing the quality and location of basic health units, as well as the accessibility of the population to the services offered, specifically as it is a municipality located in the semiarid region of Alagoas, where historically, social delays caused by the negligence of public authorities are very present in all sectors of society. Thus, the purpose of this work is to map the basic health units in Delmiro Gouveia, identifying the professionals and specialties that comprise them, based on theoretical subsidies from the geography of health, to understand how the population is cared for, as well as, analyze public health in that municipality, observing how to provide access, distribution and location in the territory of these services for the population in rural and urban areas, with the objective of facilitating the monitoring of problems, giving visibility to possible reflections, planning and decision-making in public policies. The health facilities in Delmiro Gouveia are unsatisfactorily distributed. The consequence is people's lack of access, which leads research to contribute to a study of sustainable development of basic public services. In this sense, it is important to understand how the population has access to the Unified Health System (SUS) and what mechanisms the city hall uses to expand the offer. These are some of the questions that must be answered in order to identify the intervention tools in the municipal public domain, capable of providing the inhabitants with access to quality health care according to the medical needs of each location.
